Discussion Questions

The 911 Report: A Graphic Adaptation by Jacobsen
1. Tell me what you know about what happened on 9/11.
2. What do you still need answered about what happened?
3. What have you learned prior to reading this novel that is similar/different to what you read about?
4. What connections can you make from this graphic novel to the reports given?  Can you spot any inconsistencies?  What do they mean?

  1. I remember sitting in fourth grade when the Twin Towers were hit on 9/11. Based on reports I have heard and things I have previously read, the graphic novel was pretty much the same. The only real inconsistencies I noticed were based on what happened behind closed doors that were not made public for quite some time. I still don't understand why it happened. I definitely understand the how now better than I did before though.

  2. I remember I was working at the Middle School when it happened. I was in the library and we had the television on watching it. We were all so shocked and sad that something like this could happen. I was actually relieved to read "The 911 Report:A Graphic Novel" because it explains everything in such detail. It definitely explains how the events leading up to this happened and why.I was shocked when I read about how the threats had been going on since 1993. The part that I didn't like is the action that wasn't taken before it lead to the attack and the U.S. knowing but not using it to everyone's advantage.I'm like you Alex. I still don't understand why it happened and why so many innocent people had to die.
